A poll.

What's your favorite book cover, or a really good book cover from a book you've read recently? Actually answer both, if you dare!

Here's one I liked recently (regardless of how I felt about the book):

Here's a classic I've always liked (and I liked the other cover, with the diagonal stripes in the corner and the plain text):

I've always admired those books that feature a practically naked muscular male on the front. Don't know what's inside them though! :)

Come on, Meno, I know you scan for the good parts! But really, can you think of one??

MFA Mama (I can't believe you're here! Are you still writing?), that's exactly the one I was thinking of, in concept, but couldn't conjure.

MFA Mama, I like that one too.

I also like the cover for Water for Elephants, Possession and any Haruki Murakami cover.

Really, Joe? The first one I know you like because you loooooove that guy and his writing. I'll grant you that (and no I haven't read it yet, but I plan on it. reallly) But the second one, while I like the photo - it's kinda busy don't you think? It should be just the photo. I think that would be perfect. Putting a review quote on the front is tacky, and his writing and his books don't need it. But the photo's good.

TMo, I liked the one for Possession. It reminds me of the cover for that one book about the book restoration girl who goes to Italy after a flood - it had a misleadingly sensual name... can't remember. Does it ring a bell? And the Murakami covers are all over the board. I like this one:

I like the cover of the 2008 edition of _The Stranger Beside Me_ by Ann Rule. My children, however, hate it. I have to hide it from them, lest they say, "Go 'way, Tree Eyes!" Perceptive little souls, they are.

I confess, I used to pick most of my books by the cover. One of which was "Kushiel's Dart". Fortunately, it was good. Very good, actually. It became one of my favorites. :)
