Friday Concoction

Hooray for me for this reason: I got a babysitter. Today! Causing little stay-at-home-mommmy orgasms! What will I do, what will I wear, will I remember how to drive with both hands on the steering wheel, looking forward out the windshield?

So I'll make this quick. Quinn slept for three hours in his crib, then erupted in a fit of phlegmy, hacky coughs. Back in bed. But, for three hours I slept unmolested. No, actually, I didn't sleep. I was awake the whole time missing the little bugger. But oh well. Baby steps.

And I'll leave you with this. I love it. Whatever it is. The Friday Play Thing

Have a happy day!

I am sitting here watching Go Diego Go and trying to cajol my spawn into using the potty. Have some fun for me!

I got FIVE hours of sleep BY MYSELF -- no baby, no husband -- and then I had to spoon Oliver so he'd stop crying. I like it when I can sleep with him, but since he's been sick he insists on me cradling him, or else nobody in the house sleeps.

But five hours, dude. Yay.

Good girl Mignon. I have a baby sitter too!! My friend Simone and I are having manicures and pedicures (ie. sitting next to eachother, hands soaking etc) tomorrow morning and we're beside ourselves with excitement over it. Have fun, you deserve it. You're an incredible Mum x

Mani/pedis all at once? Is someone getting married?
I went skiing with my friend Kathy and then had a nice leisurely coffee downtown. It was heaven.
I hope yours was as good as mine!

Hey, Mignon, sorry it's been so long...revising...but I miss your blog. Love the pull between insane exhultation at having "free time," and the feeling that you don't know what to do with yourself when you're finally alone.

I am so jealous that you can just go skiing on a whim. Sounds like a great day.

Yeah Kathie. Typically I go downtown and have some coffee and read/write. Missoula has a cute downtown area perfect for sipping hot stuff and people-watching. I like the feeling of being alone with lots of people around.

Jaye, it did feel strange to be on the ski hill at 9:30 on a Friday morning, but the babysitter was no whim. I called her two weeks ago, and this was her first free morning.
